Six Nations Police and Ministry of Transportation Conducting Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspections
September 14, 2026

The Six Nations Police Service (SNPS) has requested the assistance of the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to conduct commercial vehicle inspections on vehicles entering the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory today.
The inspections are being conducted alongside SNPS’s back-to-school traffic safety blitz to help keep local roadways safe for motorists, pedestrians and students. They are also being conducted in response to community concerns about roadway damage caused by heavy commercial traffic. Inspections will ensure vehicles meet safety requirements and are in proper working condition.
Previous inspections have identified a number of safety concerns, including faulty equipment. As a result, commercial vehicle operators have received warnings and, in more serious cases, vehicles have been taken off the road until the safety issues were addressed.
SNPS reminds all motorists and commercial vehicle operators to ensure their vehicles are properly maintained, obey posted speed limits and traffic signs, and use extra caution in school zones and other high-traffic areas.
